Resembling a country Japanese chalet from the outside, with dark woodwork and cemented rock, it`s simple and scrubbed on the inside, and there`s usually a wait for a table. There`s broiled chicken on bamboo skewers, seaweed stir-fried with vegetables, lots of ramen noodles of various concoctions, fried oysters, clams steamed in sake, and tempura, katsu, and teriyaki made with this and that. Prices are low, in tune with the East Village crowd, and the deluxe sushi and sashimi dinners, which include soup, salad and rice, go for around $10. There are also lots of cheap, à la carte hand rolls.
Visiting Sappora Village Japanese, you`ll find an eatery that cooks up Japanese. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $8 to $12.
Eating & Drinking: Open for dinner. Both beer and wine are served.
Details to Note: Reservations are not accepted. Carryout is available. The eatery stays open late.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa and American Express
