Hayes Street Grill opened long before Aqua and set the standard for perfectly prepared seafood. The dining room is simple and spare, and the service is comfortably professional. Every day, a different selection of fresh, grilled fish -- anything from white sea bass to local king salmon -- is offered with a choice of sauces. The latter range from the simple lemon and caper butter to more complex Sichuan peanut.
Serving American cooking known for their fish, this is a place. Expect the average entrée to cost over $20, and dress casual, but fashionable.
