Always bustling and noisy, Joe`s in Flushing has the same plain, boxy atmosphere and menu as Joe`s in Chinatown, but this one`s the original. Crab meat steamed buns are heavenly; other Shanghai specialties include smoked buffalo carp, huge twin prawns in chili sauce, deep-fried yellow-fish fingers with dry seaweed, and braised pork shoulder that falls off the bone. Vegetarian duck is a vision: a unique combination of Chinese black mushrooms and dried bean curd skin that is presented in the shape of a duck.
