Ed Moose opened the "WashBag," as it`s affectionately known, in 1973 and sold it to Peter Lomack in 1990. In 1995, Peter Osborne took over, and though the food has suffered slightly with all the changes, Osborne has retained the atmosphere that made this a favorite hangout; it`s lively and nicely out-of-date. Menu standouts include filet of sole, veal chop, and huge salads. The well-priced wine list is a draw, too. A piano player entertains nightly, sometimes joined by local singers.
