At the base of the Lipstick Building lies Jean-Georges Vongerichten`s shrine to French-influenced Thai food. Up front is a curved bar, couches, wicker chairs and tropical plants; by following the faux war-torn collaged walls -- past a table of exotic spices and fruit -- you`ll reach one of the most popular dining rooms in the city. Try to tune out the noise and tune into the ethereal food: crab spring rolls, monkfish baked with special spices, lobster with Thai herbs, and crisp squab with egg-noodle pancakes. Prix fixe lunch costs $25, pre-theater costs $35, and a tasting menu costs $65.
You`ll find that Vong serves up a Thai cuisine. Expect to pay over $30 per person.
Atmosphere: The place has a wood finished décor
Eating & Drinking: Both beer and wine are served.
Ways to Pay: Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club
