Politicians, movie stars, and food critics frequent Gabriel Aiello`s stylish restaurant just off Columbus Circle. With extra space between tables and soaring (acoustic) ceilings, the atmosphere is loft-like and luxurious. Chef Ralph Perotto has created an extraordinary menu. To begin, try spicy mussel soup or grilled pork short ribs with buckwheat polenta, pickled cabbage, and mustard. Mushroom lasagna, tagliatelle with Nantucket bay scallops, and agnolotti stuffed with quail typify the anything-but-typical pasta selection. Many fish and meat entrees are grilled in the wood-burning oven, and hearty dishes featuring pheasant and venison are offered in season.
This bar serves up an Italian cuisine. Expect to pay over $30 per person.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner.A full selection of alcoholic beverages are served, and you`ll find that there is an excellent wine list. In addition, the restaurant has a seated bar inside.
