Models, celebrities and lots of French people are repeat customers at this cozy nook that`s been around for 17 years. Chef Philippe Foss (from Le Cirque) celebrates the food of Nice, starting you off with a robust fish soup, brandade, and roasted quail filled with goat cheese and served with artichokes, sundried tomatoes and pine nuts. For main courses, get the rack of lamb, the braised sea bass bouillabaisse-style, or the codfish with crushed Yukon gold potatoes, squid and ratatouille. The family also owns the respected Gascogne in Chelsea.
Specializing in a French menu, this is a fine dining bistro. Expect the average entrée to cost between $12 and $20, and dress casual.
