I want to like it, but I just can't. I've lived in the neighborhood for years, and as such, I've had occasion to lazily accompany friends or out-of-towners to dinner here, even though it's always a letdown. I have never had a meal here that was more than mediocre or less than overpriced. I once had a fish entree that I sent back twice because the `chef` could not seem to stop overcooking the fish into a dry, stringy mess. I finally made them bring me a salad. Brunch is o.k., as the atmosphere is friendly and anyway...how bad can you screw up eggs? But if you're in from out of town and looking for some really good food, look elsewhere. Cassis, Monsoon, The Green Cat Cafe, 611 Supreme, all of these are in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and all are WORLDS better than Coastal Kitchen.
