WHY is this restaurant claiming to serve Romanian food??? I was born in Romania and lived there for the first 20 years of my life - so I definitely know Romanian cuisine! Well, nothing - and I do mean NOTHING! - on this restaurant's menu is even remotely Romanian!!! Authentic Romanian food has a wonderful variety of textures and flavors with a strong emphasis on FRESHNESS - everything from freshly baked breads and pastries to flavorful cheeses, to freshly prepared tender meats (including game), to the crispiest greens/vegetables and the most flavorful fruit and fruit dishes!
As far as Sammy's is concerned, everything in this restaurant is booze, noise, grease, and more booze - probably intended to wash down the stale taste left in your mouth by the ?what-the-heck?!? `cuisine`, along with the forgettable (and unfortunate!) experience!...
If you truly want to experience the flavors and the freshness of authentic Romanian cuisine, then better check out the TRUE Romanian restaurants in Brooklyn and Queens (Astoria, Flushing, Sunnyside, Woodside, etc.).
