I recently ate at Frankie's with a group of friends, and it was a mixed experience. While the food truly was mostly excellent, one of my friends had to send back an undercooked plate of fettucini. (I've been to Italy, and this was definitely on the harder side of al dente.) Then, I had intended on ordering the calamari appetizer, not seeing the same item listed on the entree side. The waiter assumed I wanted the full plate, and when I politely questioned the resulting bill, the manager actually asked, `Well, did you eat the pasta?` Then the manager also told us we should have given them 2 hours notice for a party of 8, when the real issue was that another party had brought 30 guests instead of 12. On the other hand, they did give everyone a complimentary apertif for our troubles. In summary, the food was great but the staff did not leave us feeling welcome.
