Atmosphere: Structurally, the restaurant utilizes a good deal of glass and windows. The establishment has an elegant décor. The interior is accented by warm tones, enhanced by prints and flowers and plants, and the lighting is soft. This is a white tableclothe restaurant.
The restaurant is small with seating for 65 people, and is cozy and comfortable and romantic and frequented by professionals and couples. Table talk is no problem here - noise level is unobtrusive.

About the Chef: Sages is a dream come true for Bart. Born in Zielona Gora, Poland then coming to the United States in 1986. Not speaking a word of English he took a job at Tosonis Café in Bellevue, Washington. Working side by side with famous Chef/Owner Walter Welcher at the ripe age of 14, Bart learned everything he could about preparing fine cuisine. Now almost 30, he has spent more than half of his life in the kitchen. He went on to work along side the Executive Chef at the Bellevue Hyatt Regency Hotel. While employed there he attended Seattle School of Culinary Art and graduated in 1992. After the Hyatt and now speaking full English he took the Chef position at popular Ristorante Paradiso in downtown Kirkland. He was there for 10 years and learned all he could about the operation of a good restaurant. Barts loyal clientele have watched his career blossom into one the most respected Chefs on the Eastside. His dishes are simple and elegant, delivering depth and appeal that come from mastering the culinary arts. Furthermore, Bart enjoys baking fresh bread and homemade desserts. He ensures only the freshest and finest ingredients are used at Sages. Here you will discover a small and intimate dining room in a romantic ambiance. You will find both Contemporary and Antique style. Sages is the perfect place for a romantic evening, business dinner or special occasion.
