In this un-fancy but decidedly stylish space, chef Jean Joho (of Everest fame) has created a fantasy Alsatian brasserie. In the large, gaily-lit hall everything from the expertly shaken martinis to the tart house brewed beer is most chic. The wait staff sashays over a white and black tile floor, swathed in white aprons, carrying such hearty dishes as coq au vin and the signature shrimp-in-a-bag. As one sits over drinks and gazes up at the enormous clock that dominates the room, the famous words of Yves St. Laurent spring to mind: "Fashion fades, but style is forever."
Offering their guests a French fare, this is an upscale restaurant. Expect the average entrée to cost $12 to $20, and dress casual.
Atmosphere: The facility has a classic and traditional décor. With seating for 180 people, the establishment has a comfortable atmosphere -- a favorite among couples.
