There`s not a homier, cozier place in the East Village, with the open kitchen filling the room with a mixture of heavenly scents. Freshly cooked goodies and ingredients are laid out on the bar, and there`s a fireplace, sofas, throw pillows, knickknacks, and menus printed in wooden picture frames. The menu changes daily, but there are always good salads, pastas, meat dishes and homemade desserts. A pretty patio garden in back is open in summer, and on Fridays and Saturdays at 4 p.m. high tea is served.
Danal focuses on a French and Mediterranean cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost between $12 and $20, and you`ll be fine if dressed casual.
Atmosphere: The place has a romantic atmosphere.
