Eating out for me is like taking a little
vacation. Reading a new menu is like taking a tour of an exotic land.
I want to experience it all -- the more unique- and bizarre-sounding
the better! I get such a thrill discovering some out-of-the-way
culinary gem. And what good is that discovery if I can't share it?
That's what I want to do here.
I don't claim to be an expert, although I do fancy myself a gourmet.
My parents exposed me to all kinds of food as a child and I continue
to seek the new and unusual as an adult.
I'm the type who wouldn't be caught DEAD at an American-style
restaurant when I'm abroad. So, you'll probably notice as we
embark on this eating exploration that I'm drawn to the smaller,
lesser-known, most often ethnic restaurants in my area -- that
offer something I can't (or won't) cook myself; AND, which promise
me the best chance of being transported to ... a faraway dining
experience.
Hopefully my discoveries will be your discoveries!
